Robert Burns was a Scottish poet and lyrcist. he is the best known of the poets who have written in the Scots language but he also wrote in standard English. He is regarded as a pioneern of the romantic movement and after his death he became a cultural icon in Scotland and among the Scottish diaspora around the world. Celebration of his life and work became almost a national charismatic cult during the 19th and the 20th centuries and his influence has long been strong on Scottish literature. As well as making original composition Burns also collected  folks songs from across Scotland.

A RED,RED ROSE
O my Luve's like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve's like the melodie
That’s sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I:
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry:

Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun:
I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.

And fare thee well, my only Luve
And fare thee well, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho’ it were ten thousand mile.
Burns was born in a house built by his father.then he sold the house and took the tenancy of the 70-acre mount oliphant farm here he grew up in poverty and hardship.
